Our Strength Is From God And Archbishop Val. Okeke – Anambra Hospital CEO

God Almighty and Archbishop of Catholic Onitsha Ecclesiastical province, His Grace, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke have been described as the brain behind total transformation of St. Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital Onitsha, Anambra State.

Making this known to newsmen in Onitsha, the Chief Exective Officer of the Hospital, Rev. Fr. Izunna Okonkwo PhD, stated that the success story of the Hospital in terms of standard structural pattern, modern equipment, quality of medical consultants and staff personnels in the Hospital are by grace of God and efforts of Archbishop Valerian Okeke.

He pointed out that with God every thing is possible and without God human being can do absolutely nothing.

He disclosed that Archbishop Okeke is the Proprietor of the Hospital who he said through his motto ” For they May Have Life and Have it to the Full (John 10:10″) made the Hospital biggest and best in the African region.

The cleric restated that Archbishop Okeke brought positive revolution and radical changes not only in the Hospital but to other 12 Hospitals in the Onitsha Archdiocese, mentioning Water Side Hospital Onitsha, Queen of Rosary Hospital Awka Etiti, St. Mathew’s Hospital Ugwuagba Obosi, Immaculate Hospital Aguleri, St. Joseph’s hospital Ifiteugwari amongst other.

He disclosed that as Archbishop Okeke increases number of Parishes in Onitsha Archdiocese, he as well increases number of Hospitals and also sends priests who would manage the Hospitals’ further studies.

“The Archbishop influenced me much in managing the Hospital. When I became the Chairman of the Hospital management on July,  2015, I had no option than to move the Hospital forward. I continued where my predecessors stopped. Though, there were challenges but God being on our side and connection of Archbishop Okeke with Irland, United States and his relations who are living in Irland we were assisted with loads of Hospital equipment and be able to save money for other developmental projects” 

Fr. Izunna however,  enumerated some of the services the Hospital offer which he said gives confidence to patients as; qualified medical staff, full modern laboratory/ scientists, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Hear and throat, pharmacy, Endocrinology, Dentistry orthopedics among others.” We take care of people from the womb to the tomb” He stated !

Also, other facilities he recounted includes clean environments, qualified hard working staff, availablity of Chaplaincy, water and regular power supply as well as other priests working assiduously with him.

The cleric regretted the non-availability of resources and fund for free treatment of patients alongside other healthcare services, noting that he had over N30 million Naira debts which he said were accumulated bills not paid by the treated patients of the hospital.
