Otti inaugurates committee to recover stolen govt property

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has inaugurated a Judicial Panel of Inquiry charged with regaining alleged stolen government property from people who served in the previous administration in the state.

A statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof Kenneth Kalu, named Justice Florence Ikwuoma Duruoha-Igwe of the State High Court Umuahia as the chairman of the panel.

Other members of the panel, according to the SSG, are Prof Ogwo Ekeoma Ogwo, Mazi Ugochukwu Okoroafor, Rev Fr Alex Okonkwo and Prof Ursula Ngozi Akanwa.

The details and scope of the duties of the government panel were not contained in the statement.

Odogwublog.com recalls that the Abia State Government recently directed former appointees and other officials of the former administration who were still in possession of government property to return them to the office of the SSG or face the consequences.
