The Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday failed to attend a live programme on Channels Television barely a week after his principal, President Muhammadu Buhari, also missed a live television debate.
Osinbajo’s media aide, Mr Laolu Akande, said in a tweet that the Vice-President would not appear on Channels Television‘s ‘Rubbing’ Minds’ because of other engagements.
He said, “Sincere apologies that VP Osinbajo can’t make ‘Rubbing Minds’ this afternoon on Channels TV.
“Being a live programme, the exigencies of campaign timing make it impossible for VP to appear on the show as scheduled today. We’re working with producers to reschedule his participation ASAP.”
Osinbajo’s decision came amid criticisms from the international community and a large section of Nigerians over the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.
The incident has dominated the media for several days’ running.
The Vice-President had said last week that Buhari knew nothing about the prosecution of the CJN.
