Onyeama moves to empower Enugu school children with education materials

The minister of foreign affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, has initiated empowerment programme for school children in Enugu state. The empowerment programme entails supply of chairs and writing desks for use in some of the schools in Enugu state to enhance their comfort while learning, as well as gift of school bags exercise books,mathematical sets etc for their class room works.

The initiative which is coming under the platform of Mr Geoffrey Onyeama’s pet project known as “,Kwusike Foundation” was flagged of at St Pauls primary school Eke,UDI local government area of Enugu state at the weekend.

Onyeama said the initiative which will be replicated in three schools in each of the 17 local governments in Enugu state,is to enhance breeding of educationally sound Youths who will contribute positively to national development, which is one of the major priority of the present administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

His words, “I believe education is the most important sector to every country. Our President,Muhammadu Buhari always emphasize that the Youths are our future. So we are trying to make our little contribution.

He disclosed that through Kwusike foundation, he impacted on the lives of so many rural dwellers in most Enugu communities with COVID-19 palliatives.In addition to on going widow empowerment project of the Foundation.

He urged the Youths to study very hard so they can attain what they want to be in future stating making Nigeria to be rich in future depends on the Children,who presently deserves quality education.
He gave instance that China that is currently one of the richest and technology inclined nation in the world,was a very poor nation about 40 years ago.But with commitment to education, it attained it’s present economic viability and tadvanced technology.

The Deputy Managing Director, Huawei company, Mr Kelvin Yang, whose company donated the materials as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR),said their company is interested in helping Nigeria advance it’s technology, by breeding local talents.

The schools that benefitted from the first phase of the foreign affairs minister largesse were Central School Eke, Community primary school Oma-Eke,Okwanda primary school Ogu- Eke,St Paul’s primary/Nursery school Eke and St Pauls Secondary school, Eke.
