Onitsha South Mayor Describes Late Hon.Akanegbu As A Peaceful Soul …As Lawmakers Held Valedictory Session In His Honour

The Mayor of Onitsha South Local Government Area, Hon.Chief Emeka Orji has described the late former Legislative Leader of the area, Late Hon.Chief Emeka Akanegbu (Nnamedolu) as a philanthropist, a committed politician who loves humanity and also has the interest of the party at heart.
He added that Late Akanegbu’s contributions to the progress of the party have earned him an honour and love from the people of Onitsha South local Government.
Orji who made this comment during the Valedictory Session of the Late Akanegbu at the Local Government Secretariat reiterated that the news of his shocking death was a blow to the people of the area, prayed that the Lord will give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
In her welcome address, the Onitsha South Legislative Leader, Hon Mrs Regina Udeogalanya said that Late Akanegbu was a Councillor of Odoakpu ward 6 from 2014-2016 whose leadership as Leader of the Council was visionary and inclusive, which was marked by efforts to uplift the people and foster unity that endeared him to hearts across the constituency.
Udeogalanya who was ably represented by the Deputy Leader, Rt.Hon.Franklin Onyeke stressed that Late Akanegbu served the party with remarkable loyalty, diligence and zeal which earned him a recognition and one of the APGA esteemed stakeholders.
“His aspiration to represent our people at the House of Assembly level under APGA showcased his unwavering commitment to public service, a quest driven by his passion for development and his desire to make a meaningful difference.
The Leader described Late Akanegbu as a bridge builder, a gentle demeanor, a peacemaker, a man of uncommon virtue who distinguished himself through his exceptional commitment to service, touching lives with his compassion, integrity and passion for progress.
Earlier in his speech, the Member representing Onitsha South 1 in the State House of Assembly, Hon.Fred Ezenwa stated “It is quite unfortunate for us to be here to mourn the loss of one of us, Late Emeka Akanegbu, (Nnamedolu),
“It is quite painful but we have to bear it because it is written that man shall come into this world one day and one day he shall bow out. We give Lord glory for his life because Emeka Akanegbu is a good man, he is being testifies here and there.
“He touched so many lives in his short period of his existence on this earth and i wish him well wherever he is. May God accept his soul, I pray God also to give solace to the wife, the children and entire Akanegbu family, may God console them because this is a blow and I play God to give him eternal rest”.Ezenwa prayed.
Those who also spoke at the Valedictory Session was the Member representing Onitsha South 11 in the state House of Assembly, Hon Jude Umennajiego, the former Chief Whip Onitsha South 2014-2016, Hon Adiba Joy Melifeonwu, Former Majority Leader, Onitsha South 2014-2016, Hon Miracle Izunegbu, Minority leader Onitsha South 2014-2016, Hon.Obiajulu Obiadiyamma.
Others were the Former Leader Onitsha North, Hon Romanus Ezeh, (Yagazie), Former House Member representing Onitsha South 1, Hon.Uzoma Eli, Former Party Chairman Onitsha South, Hon.Mofus Ezeoba, the Deputy Mayor Onitsha South, Hon.Onyebuchi Obi.
Present at the event were the Former Leader Awka North, Oyi and Ayamelum Hon Nze Fidelis, Hon. Frances, former councillors and present councillors of Onitsha South among other dignitaries.
