Omasi Monarch Urges NAFDAC, SON To Sustain Drive To Curtail Fake Drugs Circulation And Compromise Of Quality Products

The traditional ruler of Omasi Igwe Dr.Benjamin Okeji has called on the National Agency For Food, Drugs Administration And Control (NAFDAC) to widen its scope in checking the excesses of fake drugs and food pedlars in Nigeria.
In a press statement in Awka on the imperatives of executing its oversight functions regularly, Igwe Okeji expressed concern over the deaths of Nigerians arising from the activities of these enemies of humanity.
According to the royal father, human life is sacred and should be preserved in all its entirety.
He enjoined the agency to ensure regular inspection of pharmaceutical stores,supermarkets and food agencies across the nation to look out for agents ditching out poisonous substances in the name of genuine drugs, food and drinks.
Similarly, Igwe Okeji who is the deputy Chairman Anambra State traditional rulers council charged the Standards Organization Of Nigeria (SON) to spread its dragnets to police criminal elements in the society who dispatch sub standard materials of all descriptions which have ruined countless homes and organizations.
More worrisome to him, is the incessant rate of building collapses in Nigeria which have claimed many lives and can easily be traced through the substandard building materials used in the erection of the collapsed buildings.
