Okpuno Aboji New Youth executives sue for peace and forgiveness

The newly elected executives of the the Youth wing of Okpuno-Aboji Development Authority (ODA) has pledged to run an inclusive government urging all aggrieved parties to forgive one another and embrace peace.

The Youth Chairman, Mr Obiora Ugwummadu made the appeal after a keenly contested election adjudged to be transparent, free and fair at Okpuno-Aboji hall, Oba in Idemili South.

Ugwummadu promised to run an open door policy saying that peace and unity is required to bring progress and development.

“On behalf of my executives I thank you for electing us today. I beg everyone to forgive. Let us embrace peace and forgive each other regardless of the offenses. We are all brethren.

“I promise that we shall carry out our duties under the supervision of ODA as provided by the Constitution. Our first project include installation of gates at all entry roads to our village”, said Ugwummadu.

The Okpuno–Aboji, Oba Youth Executives include Obiora Ugwummadu-Chairman, Kenechukwu Ibeabuchi-Vice Chairman, Oscar Okoye-Secretary, Emeka Mkpobili-Treasurer, Izuchukwu Maduakonam-Financial Secretary, George Chukwunweugwo-Provost and Onyebuchi Onyemaenu-Commander.

According to Kenechukwu Ibeabuchi ” I would support the chairman to ensure that both those who won and lost in this election work together to achieve great things during our tenure.

Also the Scribe, Okoye said he was so elated praying that God would help his fellow youths attain their own heart desires at their chosen fields as he attained his.

The Fin. Sec, Engr. Maduakonam assured the community that he would ensure that under his watch financial probity, transparency and accountability would be upheld.

Earlier in his remarks, High Chief Chigbata Madu a.k.a Osikpe 1 of Osikpe kingdom of Aboji Akanano tasked the new executives not to derail from good works but to be good examples to other youths.

Moreover, President Aboji Akanano, Nze Dozie Nweke charged the Youths not to do anything that would tarnish their image or bring the Aboji village known to be trail Blazers in bad light.

“We are brothers, we know everyone. If you show maturity and responsibility in a little position higher responsibilities will be committed into your hands- From village leadership to national leadership”, said Nweke.

Moreso, ODA Chairman, Comrade Sunday Ugboma while inaugurating the new executives advised them to abide by the oath of office they signed before assuming office and conduct their affairs constitutionally.

“Remember the agreement papers you signed, violation of the agreement is tantamount to dissolution of the leadership or the youth wing. Let all things be done orderly to avoid ending up in jail”, said Ugboma.

The Youth President Aboji Akanano, Chidiebere Madunagu described the election as free and fair, void of violence or bloodshed as people envisaged saying that it was possible because nepotism and bribery was refused.

The election and inauguration was conducted amidst optimal security under the supervision of President General, Oba Youth and ASATU Youths Mayor Idemili South, Comrade Ikechukwu Ezeukwu, Electoral Chairman, Mr. Augustine Agbanusi and Chairman, Oba Political Affairs, Hon Ogonna Ndozie.

Ezeukwu urged all those who lost the election to wait for another opportunity to win urging youths to respect elders, constituted authority and shun violence.

The Outgoing Okpuno-Aboji youth Chairman, Hon Ebenezer Ajaefo advised the Youths to continue in the peace and unity he initiated and always seek advice from the elders if they must succeed.
