Zara Nwachinemere Abakaliki,

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Saturday, cautioned federal government against any form of intimidation, oppression, and arrest of any member of the Indigenous People of Biafra or Nnamdi Kanu’s sympathizers at Abuja during the opening of the Kanu’s retrial on Monday 26th July 2021.

Secretary-General of the group, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, in a press released, noted that the International Community is watching and waiting to see if there will be any human rights violation or abuse at the court.

He said there may be attempt by federal government to resist the crowd that will flood the court to witness if Kanu will get a fair trial, adding that if such attempt is not well handled, it may lead to abuse.

Adding: “We wish to categorically warn that at no time has the two apex organs in Ohanaeze Ndigbo, ” Ime Obi and General Assembly,” authorized anyone to act on behalf of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, to observe, interfere and infiltrate in the legal proceedings and retrial of Nnamdi Kanu.

“Anyone harmed in the process by angry members of Ipob while on ” Legal Jamboree” will have himself or herself to blame.

” It has also come to our knowledge that Fulani billionaire acting for ‘ unknown enemies’ of Nnamdi Kanu has mobilized some shameless Igbo elders on ‘Legal Jamboree’ to legitimize the abduction and retrial of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“We are calling for quick political intervention of Southeastern Governors and Igbo politicians to persuade President Muhammadu Buhari to opt for “Out-Of- Court settlement.

“While it is expected that Kanu supporters should desist from any form of protests and processions that may incite the federal government against them as such will jeopardize the backstage activities to give Nnamdi Kanu a soft landing.

“They should know that their activities at the court if not properly handled will endanger their lives. They should have it in mind that security agents are positioned to ruthlessly deal with any Biafra agitators on protesters.
