Ohanaeze Gives Herdmens Two Weeks To Leave Bushes In Igbo Land.
The Ohanaeze youths have notified all killer herdsmen in Igbo land that they have two weeks to leave the forests and bushes or be forcibly evicted.
In an interview with their national youth leader, Chief Arthur Obiorah, the youths said that the bushes and forests belonged to the people and should no longer be allowed to harbor killer herdsmen.
Chief Obiorah warned the Miyetti Allah group to stop making statements that could cause crisis in the country. He gave the squatters of all the bushes and forests on Igbo land two weeks to withdraw from the areas or be forcibly evicted.
He also announced that the group, in cooperation with other Igbo youth stakeholders, would distribute pandemic palliatives to Igbo youth at the Ohanaeze ndigbo National Secretariat in Enugu tomorrow.
He lamented the difficult situation that Igbo youths are currently facing due to the Covid-19 pandemic and called on all Igbos in good spirits and Nigerians to support this initiative.
“The igbo youths are now an endangered species and we have deem it fit to rescue them,” said Obiorah.
According to him, Barr Nnia Nwodo , the general president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide would Flag off the program along with other Ohanaeze Ndigbo chiefs.
Meanwhile, Ohanaeze Ndigbo spokesman Chuks Ibegbu around the world has praised the palliative measures planned by the youth wing and congratulated the youth leader, Chief Arthur Obiorah, on this initiative.
Ibegbu called on all Igbo philanthropists and Nigerians to support the initiative. He also appealed to Igbo groups in the diaspora to support this idea and also asked that Igbo youth and women’s empowerment programs be flagged off on the same day.
