Ogun commissioner assures Igbo community of govt. support

The Ogun Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Gbenga Dairo, on Thursday said that the present administration would continue to operate an all-inclusive government in its activities and decision-making.

Dairo, who disclosed this in Abeokuta during a courtesy visit by the Igbo community, said that the Gov. Dapo Abiodun-led administration was willing to welcome inputs capable of moving the state forward.He said that a sizable number of qualified Igbo natives had been employed as part of the state’s workforce.

He noted that the governor’s willingness to create an all-encompassing government was what led to having a Special Assistant on different Ethnic Matters.“Among the Ogun state workforce, we have a lot of non-indigenes, even in the Ministry of Transportation, we have Igbos that are doing so well.“We have them among the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps and many others in the Ministries, Departments and Parastatals.“Our gates are always open to have your views and opinions towards achieving giant strides in the state, ” Dairo said.

Earlier, Special Assistant to the Governor on Ethnic matters (Igbo), Monday Chukwudi, appreciated the commissioner for receiving them.He said the rapid development strides of the Abiodun-led administration across the state had encouraged many of the Igbo tribe to prefer residing in Ogun.

Chukwudi commended the governor for his selfless service and appealed for more employment opportunities for his people.

The Public Relations Officer, Igbo Community, Chief Samuel Duruoha, commended the state government for the road infrastructure development.He pledged the continued support of the group to the state government. (NAN)
