The Emir of Rano, in Kano State, Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila II, has passed away. A report monitored on Vanguard Newspaper by Odogwublog says the emir passed away on Saturday at a hospital in Kano at the age of 74.

5. Lagos Records Four New Coronavirus Deaths

Lagos State has recorded four new Coronavirus death, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the state to twenty-five. Naija News reports that the Lagos State Health Ministry (LSMOH) announced this on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, on Saturday, May 2.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday approved the appointment of AVM Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed (Rtd.) as the new DG of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The appointment is for an initial period of four years and takes effect from 30th April 2020.

The Governor Abdullahi Ganduje-led government has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari gave permission to ease the lockdown in the state due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. The claim was revealed in a post by the state ministry of health on its Twitter account on Saturday.

8. COVID-19: Lagos Discharges 22 More Coronavirus Patients

Lagos State has discharged twenty-two more coronavirus patients who have been treated and tested negative in its facilities. This was confirmed in a statement on Saturday by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who is also the incident commander in the state.
