In his speech after the swearing-in of the newly elected executives of the NUJ Anambra State, Hon. Victor Ogene urged journalists to pay major attention to fact-checking and interrogation of government officials, especially in the allocation of state funds. He noted that most governors are running a closed budget scheme, that even Senate members have no knowledge of the figures allocated to the states, hence the need for journalists to employ proper interrogation of the governments for accountability.

While addressing the union, Hon. Chuks Ogbonna, who represented Chief Ebuka Onwunkwo, expressed joy over Dr. Odogwu’s victory and enjoined members of the union to support and cooperate with Dr. Odogwu and his executive members for better achievements.
