OCHA Brigade Provides Mobile Disposable Waste Bin In Onitsha

In its effort to buttress the administration of Professor Charles Soludo in the area of Clean, Green sustainable Anambra, the Operation Clean Healthy Anambra ( OCHA Brigade) through it’s State Director, Chief Celestine Anere has provided assorted disposal mobile wastes bin in Onitsha and it’s environs.
Distributing the wastes bin at the strategic places in Onitsha, Anere who was represented by one of the Onitsha OCHA Brigade’s coordinator, Mr. Ejike Odife noted that the essence of providing the mobile wastes bin at the strategic places was to enable the teeming public to be putting used satchet waterproof, used canny water bottles and other waste materials.
He also said through the provision of the wastes bin the environment should be free from littering of all manners of debris and unwarranted materials as well as avoiding people not complaining of not seeing wastes bin to throw away waste materials if they are apprehended by men of OCHA Brigade.
Odife who is the unit coordinator for Borromeo round about, Upper Iweka to Bridge Head, Ogbaru local government and Owerri Road also disclosed that another aim of providing the mobile wastes bin was to reduce burdens of duties for the men of OCHA Brigade and daily road sweepers.
He revealed that satchet waterproof constitutes 70% of waste materials that fills drainage channels and environments, saying that with the provision of wastes bin, littering of wastes will be controlled and environments will be clean.
Odife however said that there are people who are responsible to evacuate the wastes bin, pleading the general public to support the initiative of OCHA Brigade agency so that the aim of Governor Soludo in launching operation Clean, Green and sustainable Anambra State could be achieved.
” The environmental hygiene is not left for OCHA Brigade to fight alone but a collective responsibility to everybody. So, OCHA Brigade has distributed mobile wastes bin in strategic places to ensure that people has no reason to throw away wastes materials anyhow. Then, residents of Onitsha and mostly visitors in Anambra State should take note of this development. Everybody should put hands together to keep our environment Clean. Nobody is asked to evacuate the wastes bin. Just keep the wastes material inside the waste bin buckets. There are people who are responsible to evacuate them in daily basis” Said Odife
He used the medium to inform Ndi Anambra to ensure that they desilt their drainages, as well as people who their environment is dirty to clean up the area just as he warned street traders to desist from displaying their wares on top of gutters.
He reminded the general public that the laws of environmental health would descend to any offender, urging everyone to adhere to the existing environmental law to avoid people dragging OCHA Brigade’s name invain.
“Law must take its course on any person who dump wastes or litters the environment with debris, dump wastes inside gutters, commiting open defecation and urinating in unauthorized place. Again, this time around is operation desilt your gutters because rain season is fast approaching when flooding wreck havock” Odife noted
” We are once again pleading the general public to abide by the law of environmental health in Anambra State like any other states in the federation. Anambra State is not exceptional. OCHA Brigade will not tolerate any attempt of disobedience to the state environmental law” Odife warned
” We are thankful to Professor Soludo for his efforts in repositioning the State as well as State director of OCHA Brigade, Chief Celestine Anere for providing the wastes bin to enhance Ocha Brigade’s duties in the State” Odife concluded.
