…INEC finally coming clean on their preferred candidate

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has informed the Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC to ignore a suit filed by Peter Obi of the Labour Party because the reliefs sought are not grantable.

Nigeria’s electoral body, INEC, disclosed this on Monday at the PEPC’s Secretariat by its lawyer, Abubakar Mahmoud, SAN, in Abuja.

The Commission asked the Court to either “dismiss or strike out the suit for being nebulous, generic, grossly incompetent, abusive, vague, general, non-specific, ambiguous, equivocal, hypothetical and academic.”

Odogwublog. con had gathered that Peter Obi, the 1st petitioner, and LP, the 2nd petitioner, had sued INEC, Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shettima and the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the 1st to 4th respondents, respectively.

The petitioners are seeking the nullification of the election victory of Tinubu and Shettima in the Feb 25 presidential poll.

Atiku Abubakar and PDP also challenged the poll’s outcome in a separate petition.

But INEC disagreed with the petitioners, insisting they were not represented in many or some of the polling units in the country.
