Governor Willie Obiano’s wife, Chief Dr Ebelechukwu Obiano on Sunday commended the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop Diocese of Awka, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim PhD and wife , Mrs Martha Chioma Ibezim for their dedicated mission in empowering women in Awka diocese in all ramifications.

Chief Mrs Obiano thanked the Archbishop’s wife who is also the President, Mother’s Union, Women’s and Girls Guild for her uncommon interest in the growth and development of women in her diocese and Province by engaging them meaningfully in skill acquisition , trade and Education.

Obiano’s wife represented by the former Chairman of Post Primary Schools Service Commission,Lady Joy Ulasi charged the women to step up their prayer life as the society is facing turmoil and its only a dedicated woman deeply rooted in prayers that can overcome all.

She encouraged Christians to remain joyful in the presence of the Lord since God has taken charge of affairs of women in the society. She added that power of appreciation is key and important in the live of Christians, since it opens further doors of expectations.

As well, the Commissioner For Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue who read the first lesson described the Archbishop as a smiling Archbishop who remained dedicated to issues concerning women.

Lady Mezue while commending Mrs Chioma Ibezim for her steadfastness in Championing the cause of women ,noted that the yearly ADWOC conference has assisted to reposition the women and expose them to the best way of maintaining good Christian Life.

The Conference, which is also the first Women’s Guild Conference of the Diocese, has its theme as ‘ The Name Of The Lord Is A Strong Tower’.

Earlier in his sermon to mark the ADWOC service, The Archbishop, Province Of The Niger and Bishop Of Awka Diocese, The Most Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim, PhD encouraged women to pay more attention to the responsibilities of motherhood and child upbringing.

Most Reverend Ibezim said that the theme of the service is very captivating and tells women to look up to God who is their fortress.

He noted that its only the righteous and those whose foundation are based on salvation given by Jesus will see God, advising women to go back and pray,re-examine their lives, train their wards in the virtues of Christian faith and never belittle God’s gifts in their lives but rather join hands and work out their salvation.

Archbishop Ibezim described the Church as a theatre, and advised men to stop seeing their wives in the negative but positive always no matter the circumstances for God created them to be on top.

He encouraged Christians not to be ‘an unbelieving believers’ but to believe what God is saying.

” Don’t doubt God. Demonstrate your faith in God.

He further prayed against premature death , reminding that if one doesn’t fight premature death, it will fight back even as he decried that burial has taken over all days of the week including Saturday.
He charged Christians to pray against premature death even as he encouraged Christians not to be absent minded once in the presence of God.

While explaining that Haaman translated in Arabic means noise, Archbishop Ibezim encouraged married couples to shun every Haaman in their families by being vigilante like Esther, since according to him the language of those who know God is like Esther when she said , if I perish, I perish’.
He added that God won’t allow His subjects to perish neither would God disappoint His subjects.

Archbishop Ibezim further commended the Priests in Aguluzuigbo Anglican community Ven Dennis Chinedu Egbogar of All Saints Parish Aguluzuigbo and Rev Canon John I Ezike of St Mark’s Anglican Church Aguluzuigbo , the host Church Vicar for working harmoniously to see that ADWOC is a success, and urged other priests to emulate them in advancing the work of God.

He noted that Church workers synergy in service is a catalyst for developing of communities and expanding the frontiers of Christianity.

He further thanked the traditional ruler of Aguluzuigbo, Igwe Rufus Ugochinyelu Iloduba for making Aguluzuigbo favourable environment for Christianity to thrive, urging him not to relent.

Appreciating her guests , the President, Mother’s Union, Women’s and Girls Guild, Mrs Chioma Ibezim who is the host challenged women to live up to the theme of the conference by working out their salvation and making God their strong tower and be saved.

Mrs Ibezim appreciated her husband and Archbishop, Province of the Niger,Most Reverend Ibezim for his Special love for women ministry of Awka Diocese, describing him as the most outstanding supporter of women ministry.

For the Chairman,2021 Diocesan Women Conference, Prof Lady Christy Okoye encouraged mothers to empower their girl child both in education,morals and other supports so as not to be deceived, pointing out that they should make them their close friends and monitor their movement.

She commended the projects and programms of Mama Awka and Mama Province of the Niger, Mrs Martha Chioma Ibezim that has endeared her to women in not only her Diocese but the state at large.

Prof Okoye who is a Professor of Political Science, University of Jos said she felt compelled to support Mama Awka Province and Archbishop in their evangelistic work and outreach even as she appealed that chirstians prayerfully and financially support them.

The service features launching of the christian family magazine, Presentation of profile mother , Ezinne Hannah Adogu who is ninty nine years, cutting of ADWOC cake , special renditions, among others.

2021 conference unique mother. Bro Christian Ifeanyichukwu Anyway is the
Chairman Aguluzuigbo Anglican community local organizing committee and the Special guests were Lady Chineze Mgbemena, Lady Ekwy Onwuaso, Lady Ada Imagie and Lady Ndidi Mezue Commissioner for ministry of women Affairs.

Mrs Chioma Nwagbo explained the cake while Venerable OnyinyeChukwu Ilione thanked the Archbishop and wife on behalf of Aguluzuigbo Anglican community and Agulu Archdeaconry while Venerable Silas Ike conducted the service.

Host Vicar’s wife Mrs Florence Ezeike , President of Agulu Anglican Women Association , Dame Ogoo Oguejiofor and President Agulu home and abroad of St Luke’s Agulu among others attended the ADWOC Sunday service.
