Obiano’s aide, Ibezim fetes inmates of Home For Mentally Challenged Persons Nteje

Special Adviser to the Governor Willie Obiano on Indigenous Medicine and Herbal practice Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim weekend fetes with inmates and Staff of the Home for Mentally Challenged Persons Nteje in Oyi Local Government Area.


The inmates received loads of surprise packages courtesy of Dr. Ibezim who visited the Centre unannounced. He presented various food items which included bags of rice and cartons of noodles as part of activities marking his birthday.

Dr. Ibezim who also serves as Managing Director, Anambra State Oxygen Production Plant thanked God for his faithfulness while reminiscing on his days of little beginnings, calling on the people of Anambra state to always remember the less privileged.

The Staff at the center were delighted as they joined the celebrant in singing and praising God for adding one more year to his life.

Dr Ibezim said he counted himself lucky to be part of those alive today considering the crisis that have befallen the world this year with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic and various crisis.

The Special Adviser who had earlier visited a Motherless Babies Home was of the opinion that if sons and daughters of Anambra state celebrated their birthdays by visiting the most vulnerable people in the state, life would be better for all.

He commended the wife of the Governor of Anambra State Dr Ebelechukwu Obiano for helping in reintegrating mentally challenged persons back into the society after receiving treatment at the Home adding that her deeds were worth emulating.

Also at the event was the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Anambra state, Mr. Emeka Ozumba who expressed happiness for the life of the celebrant stated that his decision to celebrate with the mentally challenged persons at Nteje was commendable.

One of the Caregivers in the Center, Mr. Ernest Eze said the inmates and staff were delighted by the kind gesture of Dr Ibezim as they prayed for more successful years for the celebrant.
