Obiano Inaugurates Transformer At Police Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo

Governor Willie Obiano has commissioned three hundred KVA transformers allotted to Nigeria Police Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area, by a businessman, Chief Joseph Ezeokafor.

The transformer, which is to power only the Police Zonal Headquarters, is under Aguleri thirty-three KV feeder.

Addressing officers of the Nigerian Police Force at the Headquarters, Governor Obiano, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Public Utility, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, commended Police officers serving in Anambra for their unrelenting efforts in ensuring security of lives and property in the State, even in the face of challenges presently facing security agents in Nigeria.

Governor Obiano, while appreciating Chief Ezeokafor and the likes for their various community development interventions in the State, observed that a lot of illustrious sons and daughters of the State have been supportive of his administration, which has enabled it to achieve much for the State, calling for more.

On his part, the Regional Head of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, Anambra State, Mr. Jeffrey Nwainokpor, assured that the company will ensure that the Police Zone 13 Headquarters is provided with at least twenty hours power supply to improve on their services to Ndi Anambra.

Speaking on behalf of the Assistant Inspector General, AIG, in charge of the Zone, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Mr. Chris Omini-wonder, and his Investigation counterpart, Mr. Akin Fakorede, expressed happiness with various show of love to security agencies in the State by well-to-do Ndi-Anambra, assuring that the Police will keep contributing its quota in ensuring adequate security in the State.

They disclosed that the Police Zone 13 Headquarters has been without electricity since its establishment on 8 June, 2020, and thanked Chief Ezeokafor for the gesture, even as they observed that with the EEDC services in the Headquarters, expenses on electrification of the facility will be reduced and the environment would be more conducive for officers to operate.
