Obi and the Haiti Earthquake

Haiti was recently struck by an earthquake. It reminds us of the brutalities od nature the country has continued to suffer, especially the earthquake of 2010.

After the earthquake of 2010, Mr. Peter Obi travelled to the country as an aid worker. Together with his son, they slept in one of the camps that littered the country. He took time touring damaged public buildings and other institutions.

Peter Obi, the Papal Nuncio to Haiti, His Excellency, Bernardito Auza and the Auxiliary Bishop of Port-Au Prince, Eric Glandas Toussaint during the handover on Sunday, of the cheque of $200,000 Dollars raised by Gov. Obi, to help in the rebuilding of the Cathedral of Port-Au-prince that was destroyed in the Earthquake of 2010.

Back to Nigeria, in addition to personal donation towards the re-building of the country, he helped to raise money from wealthy individuals and companies.
