NRM: A new force to drive Nigerias’ transformation, ensure accountability

In the bid to strengthen Nigeria’s economic, social, political and technological status among the comity of nations, a new movement, “The Nigeria Reset Movement’, NRM, has been launched.
A statement made available to The Guardian on Monday, in Awka, Anambra state by the Public Relations Officer, David Jones, said that the NRM is created to operate as a rallying point and the mechanism for all Nigerians to meaningfully check the establishment and hold them accountable for their various actions against the nation.
The statement said, “The NRM is people oriented, non partisan, a political vehicle dedicated to Reset Nigeria … towards resuscitating the harmony, dignity and pre-colonial socio-economic governance systems of the 371 ethnolinguistic nations that comprise Nigeria.
“Our tool for ensuring accountability harkens back to tradition, whereby if the honour of a village member was called into question, they were summoned to the village square to be held to account and face judgement.
“The village square in the 21st century Nigeria is a public call out to come and debate your actions or stance on an issue, not in front of a compromised press, but one-one against a member of NRM in full view of Nigerians”.
NRM added, “If you made a claim? defend it,.. you made a promise to the people – account for it, you believe Nigeria is on the right trajectory.. come and defend that position before the Nigerian people”.
According to NRM “No longer will wolves among us be allowed to hide among the sheep”, insisting that citizens can mete out justice by withholding their labour, respect, and service to those who have been found wanting when called to defend their honour through debate.
Jones regretted that the system of moral decay, materialism and self-centredness which has plagued Nigeria since independence, has led the country closer to social annihilation.
The NRM also criticised Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state over what it termed alleged betrayal of his supporters and his reputation as a man of the people in the just concluded August, 16, 2026 governorship election in the state.
