Notorious Mentally Challenged Man Finally Removed from Street of Awka

The Anambra State’s Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, has apprehended a notorious and violent mentally challenged man, who roam naked and harass passersby at Aroma area of the capital city.

Applying minimal force, the team of social workers in line with best practices, subdued the middle age man, before bundling him away to Nteje home for the Mentally challenged for rehabilitation.

Speaking after the removal, Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, expressed her relief that the man who has been a nightmare to people in Aroma neighborhood especially women, have been removed from the the streets. “My happiness is that we have succeeded in removing this young man from the streets, I am assuring you that he will be rehabilitated and reunited with his family”
