Some Governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have described the party’s primaries earlier scheduled to hold today and purported to have held by some persons as fraudulent.

Arising from their meeting in Awka on Saturday evening, the aspirants vehemently rejected the primaries insisting that no election held across the wards in the state.

Addressing the pressmen on behalf of other aggrieved aspirants, the Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Chief George Moghalu asserted that the aspirants were ready for a free, fair and credible election and would gladly join hands to support the winner but were disappointed at the gimmicks being played out by the committee sent to organize the election.

Dr. Moghalu maintained that the flawed process would not augur well for the party in the upcoming Gubernatorial elections, hence, called on the leadership of the party to get things done rightly and credibly.

Lending credence to NIWA MD’s assertion, one of the frontline aspirants in the party, Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo called for a total cancellation and postponement of the election to a later date. He expressed disappointment at the non-conduct of the primaries noting that party members thronged their various wards to cast their votes but there were no sight of materials or officials at at 4pm various wards. He further urged the party leadership to follow due process in conducting free and fair primaries to avert imminent implosion in the party.
