NITDA Warns of AI Malware Targeting Nigerian Institutions
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has raised an alert over a new AI-powered malware, “DeepLoad,” targeting government agencies, banks, businesses, and individuals in Nigeria.
The agency said the malware steals sensitive data, evades antivirus systems, and can reactivate days after removal, making it difficult to detect and eliminate.
NITDA urged users and organisations to avoid unverified downloads, strengthen cybersecurity measures, and report suspected breaches immediately.
