Nigeria’s challenges surmountable with proper planning — Foursquare GO
THE General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church Nigeria, Rev. Sam Aboyeji, has said Nigeria’s present economic challenges are surmountable with adequate planning and effective implementation.
Aboyeji made the assertion while addressing journalists during the church’s 69th annual national convention, themed “God of Wonders” at the Foursquare Camp, Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Ajebo, Ogun State.
The cleric who was re-elected and presented to the church and the general public at the convention to lead the Foursquare Gospel Church Nigeria for another five years, urged those in leadership position to apply the right instruments and right key to subdue current difficulties confronting the nation.
In his words: “The situation in Nigeria may seem irredeemable, but with God, all things are possible. I believe that Nigeria’s situation is redeemable, but only for us to apply the right instruments and the right key. And the key that I recommend for anybody in difficulty or hardship is to give God praise.
“We should give thanks that we are alive, we still have a nation, we can still call ourselves Nigerians, that we are not refugees in other countries. So my recommendation is to give thanks.”
On his part Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State expressed his gratitude to the church for being a beacon of hope and transformation to Nigerians.
Represented by his Special Adviser on Christian Matters, Very Rev. Bukola Adeleke, he stressed the importance of collaboration between the government and religious organisations.
He said: “Foursquare Gospel Church is more than a church; it’s a lifeline, a sanctuary and a beacon of God’s enduring grace. Governor Sanwo-Olu is pleased with your ministry, and we recognise the vital role the church plays in shaping a just and compassionate society.”
Chairman of the 2024 convention planning committee, Rev. Roland Okereke, reflected on the convention’s theme, “There have been a lot of testimonies of God of wonders visiting people.”
