Nigerian Army Pledges to Tackle Accommodation Challenges for Soldiers

The Nigerian Army has reiterated its commitment to addressing the accommodation challenges faced by personnel of the 6 Division. Speaking at the inauguration of three projects at the division’s headquarters in Port Harcourt, Maj.-Gen. Jamal Abdussalam, the General Officer Commanding, highlighted ongoing efforts to improve housing for soldiers. The inaugurated projects include a six-flat officers’ transit accommodation, a 150-meter access road, and a symbolic python monument. Abdussalam noted that the new flats would serve as temporary housing for officers, easing the barracks’ accommodation constraints. He also emphasized the need to develop the division’s extensive undeveloped land to support future expansion and improve personnel welfare.
