Nigeria Explores Drone Technology Partnership with China for Economic

Growth The Federal Government of Nigeria is advancing efforts to boost its domestic drone technology capabilities through a partnership with Loong UAV, a global leader in tactical drone solutions based in China. Speaking during the engagement on Monday, Dr. Joseph Tegbe, Director-General of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership (NCSP), highlighted the collaboration’s potential to enhance Nigeria’s logistics infrastructure, particularly in reaching remote areas, while fostering economic growth and development. “This partnership with Loong UAV aims to strengthen Nigeria’s drone technology capabilities, facilitating access to essential services and opening up new opportunities for economic advancement,” Tegbe stated. In addition to drone technology, Tegbe outlined broader collaborations with Chinese entities to improve education, healthcare, communication technology, and security infrastructure. The NCSP is also working with Chilwee Group, a leading Chinese battery manufacturer, to bolster Nigeria’s energy security and promote renewable energy, including plans for local manufacturing and raw material sourcing. These agreements underscore Nigeria’s commitment to leveraging Chinese investments to drive industrialization and socio-economic transformation.
