Niger Govt Urges Evacuation of Flood-Prone Communities After Mokwa Tragedy

Following federal flood warnings, the Niger State Government has urged over 2,000 riverside communities in 15 LGAs to relocate immediately to avoid disasters like the recent Mokwa flood, which claimed over 200 lives.

The government plans a statewide awareness campaign as NiMet forecasts heavy rains in 15 states this month.
