NEWLY ELECTED PRESIDENT ONITSHA RECREATION CLUB VOWS TO REVIVE CLUB

Chief John Ikechukwu (Onwa na Amagunze) the newly elected President of Onitsha Recreation Club has vowed to revive the Club to its original status in the past when the Club was one of the leading Recreation Clubs in the East of the Niger.
Making this vow while speaking to newsmen inside the Club House Court Road Onitsha yesterday, Chief John Ikechukw an Onitsha based business mogul said that inline for him to realize this target together with his executives, that he has already setup various committees made up of committed members of the club to marshal out a fool proof plans to rehabilitate various sections of the club namely lawn and table tennis sections, billards, chess as well as other indoor games in the club.
Other areas he also vowed to put right are the club kitchen, guest rooms, urinary and toiletry sections, restoration of steady electricity supply, rehabilitation of old and abandoned club power generators, purchasing of new generators, painting of the entire club house to give it a modern look etc.
On conducts of members, he emphasized that his mission is to enthrone absolute peace and tranquility in the club and stressed that the issue of discipline cannot be compromised as he and his executives will ensure equity and will not tolerate indiscipline.
Said he, “I want to use this opportunity to appeal to our members who had left the club based on one reason or the other to come back as we are poised this time to build the club to enviable height, I am assuring them that I and my executives are going to bring back the good old days of the club, when we play friendly tournaments with everywhere filled with joy, love, excitements and comradeship”.
