New FRSC Sector Commander Pledges Collaboration With Anambra NUJ

The newly appointed Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State, Commandant Bridget, has pledged to collaborate with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to enhance road safety and promote a better society.

Sector Commander, Bridget Asekhauno, made the commitment while receiving officials of NUJ who paid her a courtesy visit on Monday.

According to her, “I’ve been impressed by the support we have received from journalists since I arrived.

“Road safety is a collective responsibility, and journalists have shown commitment to spreading our message. 

“Journalists in Anambra have consistently published our news through their media platforms. If we were to pay for these services, it would be costly.

“They often publish our news without charge, which is invaluable. We are grateful for their support. In return, we are happy to collaborate with them.”

The NUJ delegation was led by its Chairman, Comrade Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu alongside Council Executives, Chapel Officials, and members.

In his remarks earlier, Comrade Odogwu said the visit was aimed at fostering mutual understanding between the Corps and the media to promote security and public enlightenment.

He noted that the activities of agencies can only be amplified through the media, however, the media will also not remain silent when there are issues not addressed.

The NUJ Chairman, highlighted the NUJ’s partnership with FRSC over the years and expressed optimism that their collaboration would yield positive outcomes.

He noted that journalists numbering over 1,500 in the state are law-abiding and willing to partner with government agencies and said with FRSC to work with the union to create a better society.
