New Anaocha NBA exco moves for total reconciliation, integration

The newly elected seven-member executive committee of Anaocha branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA in Anambra state has vowed to pursue total reconciliation and integration of all the members for a greater achievements.


Chairman of the association, Kaine Ananwune Esq. who disclosed this shortly after his election at Neni Chief Magistrate’s Court Hall, in Anaocha Local Government Area of the state, said the Bar also known as Family Bar would also rise above board in terms of welfare of the members, proper accountability, transparent leadership and above all embark on renovation of the Bar’s broken down vehicle and construction of its Bar Center.


According to Ananwune, “I learnt from the pitfalls and mistakes of the past administrations and I am enriched to go for better. From now onward, members shall be obliged with accurate and updated account of NBA. We will refurbish our bus.

We have diary and Identity Card projects to contend with. We shall unite and bring back our aggrieved members into the fold”.


He therefore appealed to the members to sheathe their sword, cease all hostilities and remain united as continuity with all welfare programmes would remain his administration’s focal point assuring that Stamp&Seal would be distributed during their monthly meetings.


Earlier, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Chief Ejike Okaphor Esq. had reeled out the list of the executive members who were elected on consensus basis, including Kaine Ananwune, Chairman; John Oraeki, Secretary; Ifeanyi Chidume, Financial Secretary; Nelson Onuzulike, Treasurer; Okey Eluogu, Welfare Secretary and Charles Emeka Okeke, Legal Adviser.

Okaphor disclosed that based on the constitution guiding NBA, some executive members were not cleared. He said that the vacant positions would be filled subsequently.


In his farewell speech shortly after the exercise which was witnessed by the past chairman of the bar, Chris Adimora, the immediate past chairman of the branch Jideofor Okongwu noted that his administration had fulfilled all the statutory functions with regard to NBA. 


Okongwu added that it was during his regime that Alex Ejesieme emerged as first Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN) from Anaocha bar saying that they also produced the most prestigious diary ever produced from any branch of Anambra NBA. He therefore prayed for Ananwune, his successor to move the family bar forward.

In their separate speeches, some senior members of the bar,  Eze Nnajiofor Emmanuel based at Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, Sir Sebastian Aguigwo, Ifeanyi Chidume, the financial secretary, Barr. Destiny Nnagboo, Barr Jude Onyejegbu charged the new helmsman to start off with consultations and thereafter apply good ideas to move the family bar to a higher height.
