Netflix to Acquire Warner Bros. Discovery in $83 Billion Deal
Netflix announced Friday it will purchase Warner Bros. Discovery for nearly $83 billion, marking the largest entertainment consolidation of the decade.
The acquisition provides Netflix access to Warner Bros.’ extensive film library and the premium streaming platform HBO Max. The deal, approved unanimously by both companies’ boards, is expected to close within 12 to 18 months.
