NEMA receives medical consumables donated by U.S. organisation

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) says it has taken delivery of assorted medicaments and medical consumables worth about half a billion naira, donated by MAP International, an International charity organisation.

MAP International is a Christian charity organisation based in U.S.

The agency said this in a statement signed by Mr Manzo Ezekiel, Head, Press Unit, on Thursday in Abuja.

Mr Mustapha Ahmed, Director-General, NEMA, while inspecting the medical supplies at the warehouse in Abuja, said that they would serve as medical support to persons affected by flood and other disasters in the country.

According to him, the supplies would be distributed to medical facilities across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The director-general appreciated the charity organisation for the donation and acknowledged the support and collaboration of all agencies that facilitated the clearance of the items.

The items, according to him include prenatal micronutrients supplements, knee walker, syringes, krill oil, sharp collector, bacterine spray, lancet procare, nitrile gloves, nose mask, medicated glasses, disposable barrier gowns, respirator particulate and syringe insulin, among others,” the statement read.(NAN)
