NELFUND: Over 500,000 Students Applied for Loans in 11 Months
The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) says more than 500,000 students have applied for loans through its portal in the first 11 months of operation.
In a statement on Friday, NELFUND’s Director of Corporate Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, described the figure as a milestone reflecting growing demand for accessible student financing in Nigeria.
Managing Director, Akintunde Sawyerr, said the surge in applications signals hope for families nationwide and underscores trust in NELFUND’s mission to democratize tertiary education access.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and efficiency, urging continued stakeholder support for equitable education.
