NELFUND Cracks Down on Varsities Over Fee Hikes, Refund Delays
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund has condemned alleged unethical practices by some tertiary institutions, including delayed or withheld tuition refunds and arbitrary fee increases despite benefiting from the federal student loan scheme under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The agency said it is engaging affected institutions and regulators to enforce prompt refunds, curb unjustified charges, and ensure transparent fee structures, reaffirming its commitment to protecting students and the integrity of the loan programme.
