NCC moves to end pre-registered SIMs, tighten telecom rules

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced plans to end pre-registered SIM cards and strengthen telecom regulations.

The reforms, unveiled during a public inquiry in Abuja, update licensing rules, enforcement processes, and the Internet Code of Practice to boost compliance, security, and innovation, while safeguarding user rights and promoting ethical digital practices.
