NBA Condemns Garki Branch for Appointing Convicted Maina ‘Grand Patron’
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has condemned the Abuja Garki Branch for naming Abdulrasheed Maina, convicted of stealing over ₦2bn in pension funds, as its Grand Patron.
NBA President Afam Osigwe, SAN, called the move unethical, damaging to the legal profession, and a violation of professional ethics. The association ordered the branch chairman to withdraw the appointment and stop making statements supporting Maina.
