NAUTH’S CMAC, Dr Ugboaja Lauds Anambra Progressives, Calls For More Strategic Partnership

The Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) Nnewi, Anambra State, Dr Joseph Ugboaja has praised the efforts of the Anambra Progressives in building and equipping an ultramodern medical complex for the hospital and calls for more strategic partnerships in a bid to move the hospital to the permanent site.

Dr Ugboaja made this call during the official commissioning and had over of a 50- bedded medical complex donated to the hospital by the Anambra Progressives on Saturday, 12th September 2020 at the permanent site of the hospital.

The Chairman, MAC thanked the Anambra Progressives for this great gesture and noted that it will greatly facilitate the efforts of the hospital management in relocating some sections of the hospital to the permanent site before the end of the year.

” With the commissioning of this center, the movement to the permanent site has become a reality. I thank the Anambra Progressives for this gesture as it will allow us to commence clinical activities at the permanent site.

The CMAC who is acknowledged to have played a key role in attracting the project noted that the Anambra Progressives have demonstrated in practical terms that task of providing quality healthcare to the people should not be left to the government alone.

“The Progressives have shown in real terms that the responsibility of providing good healthcare for the people should a collective one and should not be left for the Government alone. There is need for all stakeholders to close ranks and work together to uplift the health status of the people”.

He further mentioned that the donation of the ultramodern center has added a great boost to the plan of transforming the Teaching hospital to a world class hospital.

“The vision of making NAUTH rank among the best 10 hospitals in Africa can only be accomplished at the permanent site. Therefore, the event of today has given a great leverage to this vision as it has kick started our movement to the permanent site. All we need to do now is to sustain the tempo and quickly complete the other ongoing projects at the site to provide the infrastructural support for this new vision.”

The CMAC, who has championed the movement to the permanent site thanked the Anambra Progressives under the leadership of Sen(Dr) Ifeanyi Ubah for their great effort and sacrifice in donating the magnificent building to the hospital.

“I sincerely thank the Anambra Progressives for this great contribution. They have shown leadership and commitment. The Grand patron of the Progressives, Chief Cletus Ibeto, CON Omekannaya deserves a special commendation for all his support to the hospital. I pray God to bless him abundantly”.

Dr Ugboaja also thumbed up the NAUTH contingent which was led by the Board Chairman, Chief Ezekiel Afukonyo, Ikeoma Nnewi and the CMD, Prof Anthony Igwegbe, Otugo Nnewi.

The NAUTH’s CMAC also applauded the hospital’s cultural team was on hand to entertain the guests and add flavour to the occasion.
