NAPPTON underscores importance of Corvid 19 testing centers in Anambra

The body also praised measures being put in place for the National Center for Disease Control(NCDC) to approve the standard testing centers expected to be functional next week.

National Association of Pharmaceutical Technologists and Pharmacy Technicians of Nigeria (NAPPTON) has commended move by the Anambra State Government to establish two covid -19 testing centers backed with training of medical personnel to manage the facilities.


In a Press Statement issued by the association after its meeting in Awka,it said the state government had shown genuine desire to stop the virus from spreading.
According to the statement jointly signed by the State Chairperson, Mrs Patricia Maduabum and Secretary,Mr Chux Chukwuemeka,the proactive move will help to cut off the virus from the state.

“Establishment of testing centers at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka and Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi will provide access for people living in the state to know their status for prompt medical attention if detected”.


While commending the state government for it’s sustained effort to prevent the spread of the virus,it called for adequate provision of Personal Protective Equipment for Health Workers in the state.


It however, assured of their members readiness to do their best in providing services and commitment to duty in line with international best practices and requested for inclusion of its members into the Covid -19 response plan.

The body called on the people to always abide by all precautionary measures adopted in the fight against the virus,stating that it has concluded arrangement to distribute some corvid 19 hygiene materials to designated health facilities.
