N-Power: Finally Permanency.

A group which is called, Nigerian N-power Permanency Agitation Group has called on the federal government via the minister in charge of the N-Power to consider giving permanent jobs to volunteers. The call is coming as the period for the second batch of beneficiaries is close to its end. 

In a graphic tweet by one Bamawo (a beneficiary and an agitator), there is a call for the permanency. The tweet has attracted the attention of many of people on Social Media. It was on June 12th that the tweet occupied the minds of many people. See the picture below with the hash tag, “Permanent N-Power Now” as posted by Bamawo.

Yesterday, during the celebrations of Democracy Day, a volunteer suggested that every volunteer must use the graphic tweet as his or her Profile Picture on Social Media. He said it should remain as volunteers’ profile photos until the federal government considers permanenting them. 

Yet, another Social Media user, who for privacy reasons does not want his name revealed suggested going on a Social Media campaign for the permanency of N-power beneficiaries. According to him, they should go round telling the federal and state governments that they want to be given permanent jobs. He said they should be doing that till either of the governments takes an action. 

This call and the suggestions of individuals are a welcome development, particularly to the overstayed volunteers. It is hopeful that the federal government or state government will consider offering them permanent jobs.
