Prof Charles Esimone has stated that his tenure as the 6th substantive Vice- Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has ushered huge advancement in administrative processes in the citadel of learning.

The UNIZIK VC said this while addressing journalists during the March 2022 Congress of the Anambra State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists led by Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, PhD held at Godwin Ezeemo International Press Centre Awka on Thursday.

X-raying some of the administrative reforms completed in his tenure, Prof Esimone reeled out advancements in non-teaching staff career progression, completion of the review of the university’s Academic brief and plan, completion of the university’s master plan and the operational statute for the College of Health.

Esimone also said his advancement programme has brought about digital processing of student’s transcript hitherto done manually, capacity building for non- teaching staff, staff promotions, online Student union election, creation of procurement unit, among many others.

In the same vein, he identified twenty-seven completed TETfund projects, including NEEDS Assessment, Federal government capital, internally generated revenue, endowment projects as well as 24 other projects yet to be completed.

It would be recalled that the UNIZIK VC came with a vision upon assumption of office in 2019 to make Nnamdi Azikiwe the best University in Nigeria, among the first ten in Africa and among the best two hundred universities in the world, an ambition he strategically adopted ACADA, meaning Academic Excellence, Productive Public/ community service, Administrative Reforms Discipline, and Advancement to execute his vision in office.
