MTN Mourns as Boss lays Father to rest
The Chief Enterprise, e-business officer, MTN, Mrs. Lynda Saint-Nwafor has buried her father, Late Prince Agulue Amobi in Iyi-Enu, Ogidi Idemmili North LGA, Anambra.
He was aged 98.
She described him as a man of principles and integrity, a leader even as the Diokpa of Amobi family.
“As a titled Ozomma of Ogidi town, he handled issues with the community peacefully which also reflected in his public services at CFAO Qualitex Nigeria where he rose to the position of a General Manager until his retirement in 1976.”
The preacher at the funeral service held by the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim (ESOCS) Church, Sup. Apostle Kene Onuigbo in his sermon eulogized the deceased for giving a portion of his land to the Church to propagate the gospel of Christ.
He quoted Ephesians 7:2 from where he dwelt to urge those present that it is better to go to the house of the mourning to mourn with them.
Sup. Ap. Onuigbo, therefore, urged the congregation to thank God in every situation saying that if not for God, that something worse might have happened in every situation described as bad.
Prince Michael Amobi, the son of the deceased said that the family looked forward to celebrating his centenary birthday in grand style but he took a bow to be with the Lord at 98.
He described his father as a bold, protective man and a great adviser, director and motivator who instilled courage in him from the cradle days of his life
The MTN Chief Human Resource Officer, Esther Akinnukawe in her condolence message said that the company commiserate with the entire Amobi family on the loss.
She prayed for the repose of his soul and for God to console his family.
The leaders of Apapa Provincial Headquarters of ESOCS Church Lagos, SSA. Ade Akinde and Snr. Ap. Godwin in their condolence messages described the deceased as a man whose legacy is evident in the spiritual growth, visible accomplishments and the sacrifices of his children towards the development and expansion of the Church.
They both prayed to God to give his soul eternal rest and to comfort his family.
The leader of the Red capped Chiefs (Ndi Ozo) in Iyi-Enu community of Ogidi, Chief Nnajiofor Amobi in his remarks said that the late Prince was a good custodian of the tradition of the Ogidi people who knew no bounds in speaking and standing for the truth at all times.
