Wife of the Governor of Anambra State and founder of the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE, Dr Ebelechukwu Obiano, has charged Wives of the Local Government Area Transition Committee Chairmen in the State to always support the people at the grassroots, especially at this period of economic difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Governor’s Wife gave the charge during her meeting with them in Awka.

The meeting was part of the Governor’s Wife advocacy to ensure that the plights of women, especially the poor, at the grassroots are reduced during this coronavirus pandemic.

Dr Obiano reminded them of the importance of their duties to the people in their various localities and charged them to understand that this is the time when people need their help most.

She made the women to understand that they could give as little as face masks, food stuff and help in mobilizing the rural people to obey government and relevant health bodies directives in the prevention of the spread of the disease in Anambra State.

Earlier, the Anambra State Commissioner for Social Welfare Children and Women Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mezue, extolled the Governor’s wife for understanding the urgency of the moment and for remaining committed towards the welfare of the citizenry.

The leader of the group and wife of the Transition Committee Chairman for Nnewi North Local Government Area, Princess Chinelo Orizu, who had applauded the Governor’s Wife for reaching out to them, noted that some of the wives of the Transition Committee Chairmen had already done some interventions at their various areas, pledging that they will sustain the tempo.
