Mkpuru Mmiri: Online group to hold inaugural address on drug abuse

Online groups, WELCOME TO ANAMBRA and ANAMBRA TODAY have concluded arrangements for their inaugural Home Coming Party and Lecture Series.

The event is scheduled for 18th December.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the groups, Comrade Ikechukwu Okafor said that he had thought about the worrisome moral decadence and unwholesome practices that a good number of today’s youths engage in for money, fame and power, then decided to utilize the occasion of the Inaugural Home Coming Party and Lecture Series to assemble youths to speak to them on topical issues affecting them.

The issues billed for discussion during the program include:
Dangers of drug abuse; the “mkpulu Amiri” example. Commandant of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the state, is expected to make a presentation on this.

Medical practitioners are also expected to present papers on the Health Implications of drug abuse at the occasion.

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police will speak on the topic “Say No to Cultism”

Comrade Okafor said that he carefully selected the topics following recent happenings in Anambra State in particular and Nigeria in general.

“Welcome To Anambra is a pan Igbo Socio-cultural group instituted to promote harmonious and peaceful co-existence amongst Anambra indigenes and their visiting residents irrespective of their faith, origin or culture.

“The teeming population of our members consist mostly of young people under 45 years of age. It is an online group owned and managed by me. The lecture series is in conjunction with Obeledu Medical Practitioners” Ikechukwu pointed out.

The venue for the life-changing program is Obeledu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
