Mexico national coach advises Jimenez to join Man United instead of Juventus
Mexico national team coach Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino has advised Raul Jimenez to join Manchester United instead of Juventus.
The former Barcelona boss feels that the Wolves frontman could find it tough to earn a place in the Old Lady’s XI due to Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Looking at it from the outside today, I cannot see a specialist No.9 like Raul [Jimenez] at United,” Martino told ESPN.
“There are many forwards like [Marcus] Rashford, [Anthony] Martial and the boy who now plays as a right-winger, [Mason] Greenwood, but since Romelu Lukaku left I can’t see a pure No.9 like Raul.
“At Juventus he will have more trouble earning a place, because Cristiano Ronaldo shares the inside positions with whoever plays alongside him, be it Paulo Dybala or Gonzalo Higuain, so he may have tougher competition there,” said Martino.
