A 23-year-old man, Saheed Nasiru, on Tuesday appeared before a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly brandishing a knife in public.

Nasiru of No 75, Musadolowu St., Amukoko, Orile Iganmu Lagos, is standing trial over a two-count charge of conspiracy and unlawful display of harmful weapon.

The prosecutor, Insp Courage Ekhueorohan, told the court that Nasiru committed the offences with others still at large on June 7, at 3:30 p.m on Amukomo Bridge by Sari Iganmu, Orile, Lagos.

Ekhueorohan alleged that Nasiru and his accomplices publicly displayed and swung knives in the air with the intention of terrorising residents in Orile.

Nasiru, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
