Maazi Dibia Slams ABS Over Unequal Religious News Coverage
In an open letter to the Directorate of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Maazi Dibia expressed his Concern Over what he described as Selective Journalism and Unequal News Coverageby the Anambra Broadcasting service.
Maazi Dibia noted that he has carefully observed how ABS uses their social media platform to swiftly reports breaking news whenever it concerns traditional worshippers or indigenous spiritual practitioners.
However, Maazi Dibia lamented that it is now four days since the public revelation surrounding the suspension of Rev. Fr. Evang. Ifunanya Maduka Ministry, Nteje, over alleged staged miracles and false prophecies, yet your organization has remained conspicuously silent. According to Mazi Dibia;
“If this same matter had involved figures such as Mmuo Mmili Afuluanya or Akwa-Okuko, it would likely have dominated your pages within hours”
He posits that such imbalance raises serious concerns about fairness, credibility, and the duty of a state media institution to report without fear, favour, bias, or prejudice. He therefore issued a 72hours ultimatum to ABS to broadcast the matter or face further actions from him
“We therefore give a notice period of 72 hours. Should the Anambra State news agency fail to report this matter with the same urgency and visibility applied to others, we shall call on well-meaning Anambrarians to formally report your page to Meta for promoting partisan and nepotistic media practices”
“Justice must be equal if we are truly committed to sanitizing all religious and spiritual organizations in Anambra State, regardless of affiliation or influence”
