Kenya’s government has ordered TV and radio stations to halt live coverage of protests marking the first anniversary of deadly anti-government demonstrations.

The Communications Authority cited constitutional violations, prompting backlash from media outlets and rights groups. Despite the order, many stations, including Standard Group, defied the ban. Amnesty International condemned the move as a press freedom violation.
