JOB ALERT: Vacancy Advertisements for Senior Staff Positions at the Anambra International Airport

The Anambra State government invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for vacant senior management positions at the Anambra state International cargo and passenger airport.

The vacant positions are listed below:

1. GENERAL MANAGER

Qualifications: Candidates seeking to fill the position of General Manager should possess the following;

i. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aviation Management, Business Administration, Airport Management or, other related disciplines.

ii. An MBA in Airport Management will be an added advantage.

iii. Relevant certifications from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

iv. Membership of other relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.

v. At least 15 years of relevant work experience, 5 years as an airport manager, and 10 years as head of a sensitive department in an airport.

vi. Excellent knowledge of the use of the computer, internet and other relevant aviation-related software.

vii. Excellent knowledge of local and global aviation rules and standards.

viii. Excellent communication, human relations and time management skills.

2: SECRETARY TO THE GENERAL MANAGER

Qualifications: The secretary to the General Manager is a sensitive management position and candidates seeking to fill this position should possess the following;

i. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Administration, Human Resource Management, Business Administration or other relevant disciplines

ii. Membership of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) is a must.

iii. Membership of other relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.

iv. At least 10 years of relevant work experience, 5 of which must be either as a Secretary or a Personal Assistant to a top executive.

v. Excellent knowledge of the use of the computer, internet and other relevant aviation-related software.

vi. Excellent communication, human relations and time management skills.

vii. Ability to communicate in a foreign language (French, Spanish, Arabic, etc.) will be an added advantage.

3. HEAD, ADMINISTRATION AND FIANCE DEPARTMENT

Qualifications: Candidates for the position of the Head of Administration and Finance Department must possess the following;

i. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or economics.

ii. An MBA ¡n Accounting, Public sector finance, Project Management, Taxation and Budgeting, etc. will be an added advantage.

iii. Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.

iv. Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in the administration and (or) finance department of a multimillion dollars organisation.

v. Excellent communication, human relations, and time management skills.

3a. Unit Head, Accounts

Qualifications: Candidates for the position of the Unit Head, Accounts, in the Department of Administration and Finance must possess the following;

i. .A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree ¡n Accounting or Finance.

ii. An MBA in Accounting, Public sector finance, Taxation and Budgeting, etc. will be an added advantage.

iii. Membership of ICAN is compulsory

iv. Membership of other accounting professional bodies will be an added advantage.

v. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the finance department of a multimillion dollars organisation.

vi. Excellent communication, human relations and time management skills.

vii. Ability to communicate in a foreign language (French, Spanish, Arabic, etc.) will be an added advantage.

viii. Knowledge of relevant and current accounting software.

3b. Unit Head, Human Resources

Qualifications: Candidates for the position of Unit Head, Human Resources, in the department of Administration and Finance must possess the following;

i. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Industrial Relations, and Personnel Management.

ii. Relevant HR certifications or a Masters Degree will be an added advantage.

iii. Membership of relevant professional bodies is compulsory.

iv. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the administration and (or) Human Resource department of a multimillion dollars organisation.

v. Excellent communication, human relations and time management skills.

vi. Ability to communicate in a foreign language (French, Spanish, Arabic, etc.) will be an added advantage.

4. HEAD, OPERATIONS DEPARTIMENT

Qualifications: Candidates for theposition of the Head of Operations Department must possess the following;

i. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aviation Management, Business Administration, Airport Management or other related disciplines.

ii. An MBA in Airport Management will be an added advantage.

iii. Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience and 5 years in a managerial capacity in Airport Operations/associated activities.

iv. Sound knowledge and experience in practical application of ICAO’s Annex 9 (Facilitation) and 14 (Aerodromes).

v. Good knowledge of Aerodrome Safety Management System ICAO Annex 19

5. HEAD COMMERCIAL AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Qualifications: Candidates for the position of the Head of Commercial and Business Development must possess the following;

i. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Accounting, or other relevant disciplines.

ii. An MBA in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or Project Management is compulsory

iii. At least 10 years of relevant work experience, 5 of which must be either as a Business Development Manager or a Marketing Manager of a million dollars firm.

iv. Excellent knowledge of the use of the computer, internet and other relevant accounting and aviation-related software.

v. Excellent communication, human relations and time management skills.

vi. Ability to communicate in a foreign language (French, Spanish, Arabic, etc.) will be an added advantage.

6. HEAD, AVIATION SECURITY DEPARTMENT

Candidates for the position of the Head of Aviation Security Department must possess the following Qualifications:

i. Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences or Aviation Security. Knowledge and experience in the application of ICAO’s Annex 17 in the Management of airport security architecture.

ii. Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, 5 of which must be as a security consultant or in aviation security operation and management.

iii. Top retired security officials experienced in aviation security operations and management as in ICAO’s Annex 17 can also apply.

iv. Acceptable physical features necessary for a top security job, including good eye sight, appropriate height, strength, and no physical deformity.

v. Excellent communication, human relations, and time management skills.

7. HEAD, AERODROME RESCUE AND FIREFIGHTING DEPARTMENT

Qualifications: Candidates seeking to fill the position of the Head of Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Department should possess the following;

i. Knowledge and experience in the use of modern training tools in aircraft and structural fire-fighting as well as search and rescue operations will be very helpful.

ii. Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, 5 of which must be as a firefighter in an airport.

iii. Relevant academic qualifications and certifications both local and international will be an added advantage.

iv. Acceptable physical features necessary for a top firefighting job, including good eye sights, appropriate height, agility, physical strength, and lack of any form of physical deformity.

v. Excellent communication, human relations, and time management skills.

8. HEAD, CIVIL I BUILDING DEPARTMENT

Qualifications: Candidates for the position of the Head of Civil / Building Department must possess the following;

i. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, building, or other related disciplines.

ii. Membership of COREN is compulsory.

iii. Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience

9. HEAD, ELECTRICAL AND MECI-IANICAL DEPARTMENT

Qualifications: Candidates for the position of the Head of Electrical and Mechanical Department must possess the following;

i. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME), or other related disciplines.

ii. Membership of relevant professional bodies is compulsory.

iii. Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience. Sound knowledge of Airport landing aids will be an added advantage.

iv. Weight and balance practitioner with excellent knowledge of the weight and balance discipline.

v. A deep understanding of Weight and Balance Policy and Procedures and Loading Policy and Procedures.

vi. Excellent IT literacy particularly in regard to relevant engineering software.

vii. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.

viii. Sound knowledge of quality assurance and quality control.

ix. Safety Management Systems qualification.

9a. Unit Head, Electrical

Qualifications: Candidates for the position of Unit Head, Electrical, in the Department of Electrical and Mechanical must possess the following;

i. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or other related disciplines.

ii. Membership of relevant professional bodies is compulsory.

iii. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience

iv. Excellent IT literacy particularly in regard to relevant engineering software.

v. Safety Management Systems qualification.

9b. Unit Head, Mechanical Qualifications: Candidates for the position of the Unit Head, Mechanical, in the Department of Electrical and Mechanical must possess the following;

i. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME), or other related disciplines.

ii. Membership of relevant professional bodies is compulsory.

iii. Practical experience in air field fighting system maintenance is very necessary.

iv. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. Sound knowledge of Airport landing aids will be an added advantage.

v. Excellent IT literacy particularly in regard to relevant engineering software.

vi. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.

vii. Safety Management Systems qualification.
