Jim Nwobodo, Nwodo,Archbishop Chukwuma ,Senator Collins, others, commiserates with Chief GNG

Prominent men cut across the political class,Religious and Igbo leaders, women and Youths, family members, in laws and friends, on Thursday August 19, mournfully waited at Akanu Ibiam international airport, Enugu, to receive Chief Gbazueagu Nweke Gbazueagu( GNG),who flew into the Coal city with the remains of his wife,Mrs Felicia Gbazueagu.

Mrs Felicia Gbazueagu died in a London hospital after a protracted illness,last month. The corpse which was on board Dana airline flight into Enugu was first received at Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport Abuja from London,the same day.

The Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical province(Anglican Communion) and Bishop of Enugu province,His Grace,Most Revd Emmanuel Olisa Chukwuma,who was among the entourage from Akanu Ibiam airport to Enugu residence of Chief Gbazueagu, prayed for the repose of her soul. He prayed to God Almighty to give Chief Gbazueagu, His in laws, the rest of the family and friends, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Chukwuma who spoke to news men after a brief prayer session at Chief Gbazueagu’s residence, described late Mrs Felicia Gbazueagu as a devoted Christian, a good mother who served God and uplifted many in several ways. He said even though her death was painful to the church but what matters most is not how long people lived but how well someone lived within his/her life time.

Chief Nnia Nwodo, the immediate past Presudent General,Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide,who equally accompanied the entourage from Akanu Ibiam international airport to Chief Gbazueagu’s Enugu residence described the death of Mrs Felicia Gbazueagu as devastating, but expressed confidence that God Almighty will grant Chief Gbazueagu, the courage to survive the shock, same as himself. He disclosed that his own wife died in a similar circumstances eight years ago, by the grace of God he survived it.

The Chief mourner, Chief Gbazueagu,While thanking friends,political associates etc who sacrificed their time and busy schedules to identify with him,He disclosed that he was very close to the wife at the point of her death,stating her passionate appeal was that both himself(Gbazueagu) and her children should not cry much, since they did all the very best to keep her alive.
Chief Gbazueagu expressed gratitude to God Almighty for granting him a Clemente weather which he prayed for.

He disclosed that the airport reception at Abuja which was well attended by both friends and his political associates just like that if Enugu was not disrupted by an atom of rain,amidst the fact that we are in the peak of the rainy season.

Chief GNG expressed gratitude to Chief Jim Nwobodo and his wife,Mrs Patricia Nwobodo, for their consistent phone calls through out the period her wife was in hospital, to have waited patiently at Akanu Ibiam airport and to his residence.

Other dignitaries that joined in the Enugu reception of late Felicia Gbazueagu remains were Group Captain Orjii(retrd),a former military governor of Bauchi state .Senator Ben Collins Ndu,Chief Enoruka Joe Okoli, Dr Eric Olluedol,Oji River local government chairman,Hon Frank Udemezue,Hon Chief Eugene Eneh,among others.

Chief Gbazueagu said the dates of the funeral ceremonies of her late wife will be announced later after due consultations with the church, in laws and his extended family members.
