IWD summit: Women urged to Gear up, Aspire and Win

All for women initiative Nigeria in their summit prior to the International Women’s Day urged every woman and girl child to gear up, aspire and win.Chief Mrs Josephine Anenih in her speech persuades the government and the general public to empower women and girl children with education and opportunities to generate their own money rather than giving them sewing machine, washing machines and the likes.

A renowned journalist, now the commissioner for women affairs and children social welfare, Lady Ify Obihabo lectured on “violence against women, intervention and challenges “. In her lecture, she thanked the governor of Anambra State, Governor Charles Soludo for his helps in fighting the cause of women. ” the governor has been of immense help in fighting the cause of women in Anambra State.

He has been working with the slogan ‘ see something, say something ‘ to get the women stand against any violent act melted on them by their fellow women and male folks “.Lady Ify reprimanded women who take part in perpetrating violence against their fellow gender and made all pledge to love their fellow women sincerely.Women of great substance that graced the event are Professor Chinyere Okunna, the first female professor of Mass Communication Nigeria and the deputy vice chancellor of Paul university who told women to maximize their strength by overcoming their weaknesses. On the same vein, she pleaded with men to give women breathing space to rise in the society. ” Women are working hard and getting better but men should give us more space.

Omenugha the second female professor of Mass Communication, also the vice chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Anambra State on her part adjourned the women to gear up for public responsibilities, stand firm and never give up in anything they have set their mind to do.A gynaecologist who is the Deputy vice chancellor administration of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof Joseph Ikechebelu disclosed the solution to improving maternal healthcare to be ‘Abinye’ meaning save motherhood.” Governor Soludo have toed the footsteps of Ondo State governor by granting free maternal healthcare and delivery to all women of Anambra State”The commissioner of police CP Aderemi Adeoye who declared himself a “he for she” pledged his allegiance to fighting for the right of women and girl children.Aderemi fortunately turns out to be one of the awardees of the day alongside Honorable Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, commissioner for local governments.
