INEC Unveils 142 Recommendations for Electoral Process Improvement
The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu, announced 142 recommendations to enhance Nigeria’s electoral process. These recommendations cover areas such as voter management, election security, and legal frameworks. Yakubu stated that 86 of the recommendations require INEC’s action, while 48 need involvement from other stakeholders like security agencies, political parties, and civil society. Key highlights include addressing result management clarity and reviewing the use of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) for voter accreditation.
